Reductil capsules contain the active ingredient sibutramine hydrochloride monohydrate, which is a type of anti-obesity medicine. It changes your brain chemistry, making you feel full more quickly.

Reductil helps you to lose weight by suppressing hunger, curbing cravings for sugar, fried food, chocolates and to lose weight without feeling deprived of the foods you enjoy. It works by making you feel satisfied with less food. It helps control how much you eat. By eating less, it should be easier for you to lose weight. Reductil also reduces water retention while increasing your metabolism promoting fat burning properties.

Reductil works by affecting neurotransmitters in the brain which are responsible for moderating mood and various other processes in the brain. It is thought that Reductil helps people to lose weight by increasing the amount of neurotransmitters free to act in the brain. This enhances the feeling of fulfillment from eating, and so makes you feel satisfied after eating less food.

Reductil is only licensed to aid weight loss in people with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, and people with a BMI of 27 or higher who also have other obesity related risk factors, such as type 2 diabetes or high cholesterol.

Effective dosage
Reductil capsules should be swallowed whole with a drink in the morning. Effective dosage is one 10mg or 15mg tablet a day. They can be taken with or without food.

Side effects
The primary known side effects of concern with sibutramine are elevations in blood pressure and pulse, which are usually small but may be significant in some patients. Other side effects include headache, dry mouth, constipation and insomnia. Consult your doctor if you experience any severe side effects.
